Launched in 2009, Beauty and the East TV (BE tv) is a hip, English-language web tv network that puts a spotlight on Middle Eastern & South Asian American entertainment, as well as stories that promote intercultural unity. Created by fashion designer Samira Atash, the network features popular and emerging actors, musicians, comedians, designers, film-makers, artists, and success stories – all from diverse backgrounds who share their stories through online videos and Beauty and the East TV original episodes. Positive connections are created, and stereotypes are broken, so the world can see "the beauty of the east".
BE tv also encourages the pursuit of the arts and entertainment, fostering dialogue, peace, unity, and understanding between cultures.
