Fab Fun Muslim Talent

About

Beauty is truly only skin deep. Those who look past stereotypes will find millions of Muslims who are moderate, peaceful, and talented. Unfortunately, mainstream media focuses on negative stories. It is now more important than ever to create positive connections between the West and Muslim communities through the media, and to highlight the talent of Muslims so the world can see "the beauty of the east".

Launched in 2009, Beauty and the East TV is an entertainment & lifestyle web tv network that seeks to improve the image of Muslims through the universal language of art and expression. The network features popular and emerging Muslim/Middle Eastern/South Asian musicians, comedians, designers, film-makers, actors, authors, and success stories – all from diverse backgrounds who share their personal stories and talents through online videos and our original episodes. Also featured are non-Muslims who are making a positive impact in Muslim communities.

Beauty and the East TV is a bridge builder. English content promotes dialogue and unity with the West as well as among Muslims who come from diverse backgrounds. Beauty and the East TV also encourages young Muslims to pursue the arts and entertainment, fostering cultural tolerance and creativity.

Beauty and the East TV is independent and not affiliated with any religious or political groups. Original episodes are produced by PlanetPix Media (www.planetpixmedia.com)

CREATED & HOSTED BY: SAMIRA ATASH

Samira is an award-nominated New York based fashion designer, marketing consultant and social entrepreneur who has created two independent fashion labels: SAMIRA ATASH & It's A Miracle Contemporary Maternity. The Samira Atash label unites East and West through designs inspired by the Silk Road and It’s A Miracle offers contemporary fashions for women who don’t want to show off too much skin. She has also launched various ventures and has worked in front of and behind the cameras in television and film.

Samira developed the concept for Beauty and the East TV after seeing the lack of entertainment/media that western Muslims can relate to.
